BYBORRE is a design studio focused on developing fabrics of the future. Textile will become the next platform to interact with the digital world, building on technologies in virtual reality and mobile computing. We are removing another layer between humans and computers, which creates a new interface that is invisible, tactile and intuitive. The innovation lies in the yarns and knitting patterns as well as the embedded sensors.

About the job

BYBORRE is looking for someone who can help our studio and team get things done. We call it the Studio Manager, you might say Office Manager. This people-person can prevent (and solve) office crisis both mundane and critical. BYBORRE is not just about meeting weekly performance goals. We hope to build an enjoyable and effective culture based around shared values and a fun working environment. You will play a central role in organizing events and supporting, improving and shaping our company culture. Our studio always looks perfect with you around. Team events will never be organized in a dull place. Our accountant will praise the timely way in which he receives our financial documentation. In this multi-dimensional role you will ensure overall efficiency whilst providing high-quality administrative support. As a stand-alone position, there is opportunity for greater responsibility and scope for developing the role. We are looking for an experienced professional that could pick up the following roles, each with some example tasks.   Studio Support; taking ad-hoc tasks out of the hands of the core team. Creating the best possible environment for the team to operate in.

  • Arranging travel planning like hotel stays or car hires
  • Manage and coordinate special events such as meetings, company days, sample sales and parties
  • Facilitate meetings and take notes
  • Managing studio maintenance and services
  • Back-office tasks for the studio
  • Be the first point of contact for all guests
  • Ensure the office and showrooms look tidy and appealing at all times
  • Answering the phone and dealing with enquires
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Arrange refreshments and lunches
  • Manage other ad hoc projects

Budget Boss; collecting financial data and cash flow planning.

  • Collecting expense details such as receipts
  • Keeping track of the business bank accounts
  • Sending out invoices & tracking payments
  • Payroll administration
  • Making sure the CFO, accountant, notary and fiscal specialists have everything they need to do their job
Dit is wie je bent
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
  • HBO education or similar
  • You have a service minded attitude, but you are highly assertive
  • Problem solving mentality and ability to multi task, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
  • Exceptional organizational skills and killer attention to detail with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and distill it for business purposes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, collaboration and teamwork skills with the ability to gain trust and consensus. Fluent in written & spoken English and Dutch
  • Strong process orientation and the ability to document new or improved business and financial planning and management processes and reporting mechanisms
  • The ability to maintain meticulous records and business processes and transfer to and share the knowledge with others
  • Proactive, resourceful, and creative in fully utilizing available resources and information to solve ad-hoc problems
  • Ability to thrive in a team-based environment that is fast-paced and rapidly growing
  • IT skills (Office/Apple Productivity Apps, Slack, Google Apps)
  • Previous experience from or affinity with a fashion / design environment and/or startups is desirable
